Classroom Website

What Went Well: Overall, I had a very easy time using Google Sites to create my website. I also really liked that it was drawn out process. The fact that we worked on it for a long time helped me retain knowledge of how to use the tool. I really enjoyed designing the website, but of course I enjoy anything that allows me to be creative.

What did not go well: The only thing that I had a problem with was creating sub-pages to go under my resources page. I had to have some help with this. Other than that, everything went fairly smoothly.

How to use in my classroom: I could have my future students create their own websites, but I really think that I will use the website that I have created for my students and parents to use.

Diabetes Awareness

What went well: The editing process went well. It took me a little while to figure out how to time the captions but after that it was easy and fun. Now that I know how to use imovie and find pictures of the right resolution, I think that this will be a very useful and fun tool to use.

What did not go well: Quite a few things did not go well. I struggled to find photos that were the right resolution and were copyright free. The photos that I had collected and brought on the first lab day were too low of a resolution, so I had to start over. On Thursday, I was finally able to figure out how to get high resolution photos off of Flickr. Once I found the correct photos, using the imovie tool was fairly easy. It did take me a little while to figure out how to properly time the comments. I had to watch my movie several times and edit it several times to get it how I wanted it.

How to use in my classroom: I think that this would be a great tool for students Middle Grades or higher (consequently, this is the grade level I will be teaching). In order to help the students use the tool, because of copyright issues, photo resolution issues ect. I will provide explicit instructions as well as a list of websites where they can find photos and music that is copyright free. I will also give instructions on how to use creative commons photos from Flickr.

Google Forms

Active-Inspire

What went well: Once I got the hang of it I really enjoyed creating my flip chart. I think this is a great tool .

What didn't go well: From the time that Ginny showed how to use the different features to when I actually did the project, I had forgotten quite a few things and had to ask again.

How I would use this in my classroom: I think that this is great technology for the classroom. Assuming that my future classroom will have  a Promethean board, I would use it everyday for interactive learning.
